Fiber optic pigtail is widely used in fiber optic terminal box, ODF rack , cabinet to connect with
fiber optic media converter/transceivers(also use coupler, jumper/patch cord,etc.)
ITU-T International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Organization
(ITU-T for ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector), specified three kinds of commonly
used optical fiber: G.652 fiber,G.653 fiber and G.655 fiber.
Optical fiber fusion technology is mainly to connect the fiber and fiber or fiber and pigtails by
fusion splicer. It make the bare fiber of cable with the pigtails fused together into a whole,but
the pigtail has a separate connector. Through connected with optical fiber transceiver, we can
connect the fiber with twisted pair cable to the socket. The main tools need in splicing: optical
fiber termination box, optical fiber transceiver(media converter), pigtail, coupler, special use
cable stripper, optical fiber clever, etc.
